What Is the Imagine Music Lab?
The Imagine Music Lab is a membership-based learning environment for pianists and musicians who want to play with more freedom, understanding, and creative confidence. Instead of isolated weekly lessons, the Lab offers multiple live group classes each week, guided practice frameworks, and an active community—so learning music feels connected, intuitive, and alive.
Whether you’re rebuilding fundamentals, expanding into new styles, or reconnecting with your creativity, the Lab helps you develop musicianship that actually sticks and translates to real playing.

The story behind the Imagine Music Lab
Why this format exists—and how it grew out of years of teaching, performing, and learning alongside musicians.
MICHAEL'SÂ STORY
I started playing piano at a young age and grew up immersed in classical music, jazz, and performance. Like many musicians, I learned early how to practice and perform — but not always how to understand, retain, or creatively use the music I was playing. Over time, I became deeply interested in the why behind music: harmony, form, improvisation, and how all styles connect beneath the surface.
Before moving to Los Angeles, I owned and operated a music school in Seattle, where I developed original curricula and mentored students from early childhood through adulthood. Many of those students went on to attend top conservatories and universities, perform professionally, and build sustainable careers as artists, producers, composers, and educators. Along the way, I saw firsthand how confidence, clarity, and creativity grow when musicians are taught holistically.
Today, I split my time between producing music, collaborating with artists across genres, and teaching adults who want a healthier, more fulfilling relationship with music. The Imagine Music Lab is a reflection of everything I’ve learned — a place where theory serves expression, practice leads to freedom, and community makes the process meaningful.
